a little about me
Officially: I have a BFA in Jewelry and Metals from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. While at UMass, I discovered my love for working with sterling silver and fine silver and adding color to my pieces with enamel. I am enamored with the problem solving of making adornments as well as the ability to be able to manipulate metal into the form that I want it to become by hammering and bending it. During my undergraduate studies I indulged in textiles, bookbinding and drawing, enjoying these mediums as well. But, no matter what medium I use I am always influenced by nature. Its patterns, colors, beauty, forms and rebirth always find a way into my work.
My jewelry is influenced heavily on nature and the Art Nouveau movement. I love to play with textures on metal and discover how different techniques pick up reflections of color and light. I prefer to make small series of work, playing around with piece after piece leaving some ideas behind and taking other ideas along to blend with the new.

Unofficially: I love nature, it inspires and intrigues me and haunts my jewelry. I love my dog, she couldn’t get any darn cuter. My life is pretty great. I love my work and the city I live in. I adore bright pink boots and most any patent leather shoes. I am passionate about buying handmade. When I was a little girl I drew for hours on end which could be why I ended up terribly nearsighted. When I wasn’t drawing I was taking apart my old jewelry and putting different pieces together to make into new jewelry. My only regret is not having pliers when I did this.
