My Lapidary Studio
Hello. My name is Tony.
I have a studio in Vancouver Canada where I have been a trade cutter for over 35 years. Every once in a while I get some interesting pieces pass through my shop and this blog is my attempt to share.
A custom cut Citrine
For my personal amusement I glued an Amethyst, Citrine and synthtic Opal together.

Tony,
I’m in Afghanistan right now and have some emeralds that I bought; if I sent you some magnified pictures of them could you tell me what you think of the quality?
Hello M’lou,
As I am in Canada there could be customs issues. I believe they are more likely to be delays rather than costs. I have e-mailed you with the address of Wayne Emery a US cutter and fellow Orchidian who is certainly competent and much more convenient.
Neither Wayne nor I are diamond cutters but Wayne does have a friend that is a professional who will be able to make your diamond repairs.
Tony.
Hi, Tony,
I have a couple of stones that could use work. One is an emerald that I cracked the corner off of, and I think I have a diamond somewhere, too…
Could you look at them for me? Will sending them across national borders be costly?
