    Mystic topaz is white topaz that had had a coating applied to it.
    This is only a few molecules thick and it will wear off very quickly -
    especially if the stone is mounted in a ring. A slip up in setting
    will also remove the coating. 

    It gets offered on TV sales shows and in cheap jewlery shops. I'd
    suggest none of us touch it with the proverbial barge pole.
