    Hi Tom.  I have been in the opal business for almost 10 years now and
    this is the first I have heard of the Alberta Opal.  Did they claim
    that this is a new find??.  Does it have a play of color?? 

    The lavender to pink in the clams are almost certain to be mother of
    pearl like the Anomies from British Columbia.  The Fox Formation in
    South Dakota also has shells with the mother of pearl still visible.
