The centerpiece of this necklace is called a "naja". The horseshoe shape was borrowed by the Navajo silversmiths from the bridles of Spaniard horses. The Spaniards had borrowed it from a Moorish motif designed to ward off the "evil eye". This piece is fabricated in sterling silver using turquoise and red coral. the inlaid cabochon in the dangle is all natural materials: turquoise, lapis, malachite, black onyx, mother of pearl and red coral. The pendant hangs on a handmade sterling chain.

The earrings are sterling silver with black onyx, turquoise and jet; and turquoise and red coral, respectively.
