Easter Parade 2006 at the Keukenhof

In the famous bulb flower park Keukenhof (Lisse, Netherlands) this year the already traditional Easter Parade will be held for the 3rd time. On Easter Monday, April 17th, everyone is very welcome at Keukenhof to show their own (self made) hat and participate in the hat contest as well as in the hat parade through this beautiful park later in the day. So far these happenings have been a big success. In one of the Keukenhof Pavilions the public as well as the numerous participants assembled for the prize giving ceremony, which provided a breathtaking picture. It was all about looking and be looked at. So many men, so many hats, extravagant or more modest, serious or funny, lovely or robust.

This year again the organizer expects to be a lot of interest. People who want to participate are requested to report at the cash points. There they can get a number and with that report at the members of the jury who will take up position in the park. At 18 o'clock everybody will assemble in the Juliana Pavilion. After a short musical intermezzo, the jury will appoint the winner, the maker of the most original and we I made hat, and present the award. At the end of the day all participants together walk through the park in a colorful and cheerful parade. On a photogenic location a group photo will be made. Apart from this hat (design) contest a hat show will take place on Easter Monday, with hats designed by international professional hat designers. This show will be presented 3 times during the day, at 11, 14 and 17 o'clock. Easter Monday Keukenhof is for very early birds already open at 6 o'clock.
